SNSS Birthday Blog Hop!

Hey everyone!  We're celebrating the 8th birthday of Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps today, with a blog hop and a chance to win FREE STUFF!  There will be a grand prize of an $80 prize pack awarded to one random person who comments throughout the blog hop, so be sure to visit everyone's page and leave a comment!

Here's my card for today's hop:

I used the Nature Silhouettes stamp set along with the Faith stamp set to create this card.  To start out, I cut a piece of hot press watercolor paper to 3 3/4" x 5" and masked off a strip towards the top with painter's tape.  Then I wet down the strip with water and dabbed Distress inks into the space with my Aquapainter, letting them bleed into each other a little.  I started with Mustard Seed at the bottom, followed by Dried Marigold, Worn Lipstick, and finally Peacock Feathers.  I dried it with my heat gun and stamped the wildflowers/grasses from Nature Silhouettes with Ranger Archival Jet Black ink.  Then I carefully removed the painter's tape and stamped the dragonfly from the same stamp set, letting it go outside of the painted strip a little for some interest.  I used a black fine tipped Sharpie and a ruler to add black lines above and below the area, and stamped the sentiment from the Faith set underneath.  I ended up trimming it down to 3 1/2" x 4 3/4" because the ink bled a little bit down the edge of the paper, even though I pressed the painter's tape down really well.  Finally I matted it onto Basic Black cardstock and then a Bermuda Bay card base.  It's very flat and easy to mail; nothing 3D on this easy card!

I hope you liked today's project.  Check out Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps for more beautiful stamp sets - now through the 12th, you can get FREE SHIPPING on an order of $30 (enter the code BDAYFREESHIP at checkout), and from the 13th -19th you can earn a FREE STAMP SET of your choice (valued at $15.95) with any $80 order!  Not to mention, all digital products are 50% off all month long.

Love the sentiment on this card. It is faith that makes things possible. Being diagnosed with cancer has made me trust the Lord even more.
